eTech Conference Presentation Ideas for ARRA Presentation



Proposal Title: Access to web base tools
Option 6: Teaching & Learning Presentations (30 minutes; audience size is limited to 25-30 attendees)
This presentation opportunity is being extended only to ARRA grant teams. Teams may present information about grant activities and projects. Presentations should address a specific aspect of the grant implementation, describe students’ learning experiences, or share samples of student-produced materials. These sessions will take place in the teaching and learning space of the exhibit hall

Proposal Description:
Describe the objectives, content and ways that attendees may utilize the information presented.
Please include:
How does your proposal align with the Conference vision and theme? (Learning Through Innovation)
We need access to web based tools to be able to be innovative

Session dynamics; how will you promote interactive learning an engaging our attendees during your presentation?
Video at beginning - clicker response system - lecture - video at end
Will we have access to technology during the presentation? If so, we could show websites that were blocked at EPMS,
we could show lists of blocked websites, etc. (Actually, when I view the presentation page I can see a blocked portion of it on the right.)


Learning outcomes. What one or two learning objectives should the audience be able to do after the session is over? of
Schools would come away with a step by step procedure of how to gain access to blocked sites


What adult learning principles are you incorporating into your proposal design?
Aults are practical, focusing on the aspects of a lesson most useful to them in their work. They may ;not be intereste in knowlege for its own sake. Isnstrucrores must tel participants explicitly how the lesson will be useful to them on the job.

How does your proposal meets the needs of diverse learners?
We are using tactile, visual, an auditory learning in our presentation

Can you identify competencies, strategies and resources for attendees to utilize?
We're going to provide specific strategies for gaining access to web 2.0 tools an have a list of sites for them to take with them.

Biography: Kathy Young (Coach) - Retired Elementary Teacher - Taught: 4th Grade (1 year) 6th Grade (5 years) 3rd Grade (23 years) - Worked with Special Education Teachers and many special needs students providing inclusion in a "regular" education classroom - Member of District Technology Team for 8 years

Teri Rauch- Special Education Teacher
I am in my thirteenth year of teaching. I have taught special education classes at elementary, middle, and high school levels. I instruct students in the both the resource room and in co-teaching classrooms. I currently teach language arts, literature, and math.

Marsha Henry- Middle School Science Teacher
I am in my 32nd year of teaching. I have taught elementary grades for 15 years. I have taught middle school Science for the past 16 years. I have worked at the elementary level with Special Education teachers and IEP students. I presently work with Special Education teachers and IEP students in my regular Science Classes.
I have been a member of the LPDC licensure committee in prior years.
